Saying goodbye is always hard. The past several weeks have been long ones marked with many tears for Erin & Chad, who were excitingly waiting the arrival of their first baby in October! At their first doctor appointment, the ultrasound only showed an empty sac. The sac was growing and pregnancy symptoms were strong, so we all prayed for a miracle. After several ultrasounds and blood tests, however, it was confirmed their baby had stopped developing early on. Although, our hearts were broken, we know that God’s mercy endures forever! Sometimes through pain, we see God’s handiwork even more clearly. It’s during those times of sorrow, that we often sense God’s love and care in special ways.The reminder that our first little grandbaby is already in Heaven is evidence of His grace! The sweet messages and prayers of many friends have encouraged our hearts! We ask for your continued prayers for Erin and Chad…

When we first heard you were on the way,
It became the most exciting day.
We were instantly filled with unspeakable joy,
And we wandered if you were a girl or boy.
Our time with you was cut too short
As we heard the doctor’s grave report.
Many tears began to flow,
Because we knew you’d never grow.
For now we’ve had to say goodbye,
Before we could hug you or swing you high.
But you should know you’ll always be,
A part of our hearts and our family.
We know God’s will is the very best,
To the weary soul, He promises rest.
In spite of any hurt or pain,
God’s mercy and grace will sustain.
We’ll look to God for strength and love,
Until we shall meet in Heaven above!
We’ll praise Him for all that He has done,
For giving a gift: a daughter or son!
